Bling On A Budget: Saint Valentine’s Day Edition

Creativity is the word of the day if you don’t have the money and want to make an impression.

The commercialism of Valentine’s Day is a killer.  Heart and hearts galore are all over the place.  The pressure is on and your pockets are hurting.  What is a poor soul to do?

1.  Have your game plan together.  Know what he/she likes.

2.  Get your cooking skills up.  Show that person that you can hook up a steak better than Ruth Chris.  2 T-Bones or 2 Filet Mignon’s should cost around $12.00 – $18.oo at the grocery store.  Don’t forget to add a few side items, great music, and the candles.

3.  Know your flower vendors.  Know where you can get the best flowers for the best prices.

4.  Try to make or acquire their favorite drink.  This won’t be a difficult task if your person is a lush, a wino, a drunk, or an alcoholic.  Those types of people would be content with anything that’ll get them drunk.

Those are meerly tips.  If you have been sincere all of last year, you can come with a box of heart candy, a hand written love letter, a bottle of wine, smelling good and looking good, and that will do it.

Bling On A Budget: Fancy Clothes

It’s not like you to be dressed down in the latest Wal-Mart special.  Your money is extremely funny and you want be seen on the scene dressed right and looking tight.  I can’t help with the looking tight part only the dressed right part.

Um..there are a few stores that have been around forever and have been passed up probably because they have been considered a “broke person’s paradise.”  Four that come into mind are Marshalls, TJ Maxx (Marshalls and TJ Maxx are owned by the same corporation), K&G, and Ross.  Depending on what city you reside, you might not have a K&G.

If you haven’t heard, these stores are great.  The thing is, due to the recession / economic down slide, the major upscale department stores have been sell off their inventory to the above mentioned stores.  Extreme savings are passed on to you.  Check on this.  You just never know.

Bling On A Budget: Volkswagen CC

Volkswagen CC

Volkswagen CC

The economy is out of wack and that luxury car you so wanted is out of reach at the moment.  At this point it’s time to “Bling On A Budget”.  That’s where the Volkswagen CC comes into action.

mercedes-cl-600-picture1At first glance, it looks like and resembles the Mercedes CL 600.  This is a good thing for those who need to be seen on the scene in a nice looking car.  When it comes down to the mathematics in these trying times, the CC is the way to go.

Some people will gasp a the thought of driving a Volkswagen.  I have to say, cosmetic wise, the CC is one of the best looking VW’s I’ve seen in a very long time.
